Monthly Summary for August 2012

I read the following titles during the weeks of August (with links to blog posts about said book where there is one):

Columbine – Dave Cullen (NF)

Vanity Fair – William Makepeace Thackery

Matilda – Roald Dahl

The Country Diaries – Alan Taylor (ed.) (NF)

The Lake of Darkness – Ruth Rendell (no blog post)

Tess of the D’Urbervilles – Thomas Hardy

The Power of Habit – Charles Duhigg (NF)

Nervous Conditions – Tsitsi Dangarembga

The Sign of Four – Arthur Conan Doyle (no individual blog post)

Total number of books read in July:  9

Fiction/Non-Fiction:  six fiction / three non-fiction

Library books vs. books I owned (and thus removed from the home abode):  four library books and four owned books.

I also read one electronic book (who is owned by no one and everyone!) Thank you, Project Gutenberg and the volunteers who spend countless hours typing these books for us to read. 🙂

As for the reading project with regard to trying to read more POC authors – that was actually stressing me out so I have put that emphasis to the side for now.

New mantra: I will read what I want when I want to read it from now on.
