Halfway 2013 Reading Summary and Other Nerdy Bits…

onehalfWith July coming to a close, I suddenly realized that we were (slightly more than) halfway through the year, and so thought it might be interesting to review where I am and what I’ve been reading. I have been working on not being so goal-focused with my reading and become more laid back about it. We’ll see how long that lasts… HA!

Total number of books read by July:  84 (more than usual but with new job changes etc., not sure how sustainable this is. That’s ok, though.)

Fiction/Non-Fiction: 49 fiction / 25 non-fiction

Library books vs. books I owned (and thus removed from the home abode): 39 library books and 27 owned books. I also read 14 electronic books.

DNF: 4

Total number of pages read so far this year: 20,543 (av: 263 per book)

And Scary Big Books (SBB) Update:  Very slight progress to report on this sub-project, but I do have the best intentions with this and I did lug Norman Collins’ “London Belongs to Me” all the way to Mexico and back… Does that count? 🙂

Thank you, also, to the various incarnations of Project Gutenberg around the world, and the volunteers who spend countless hours typing these books for us to read. Noted and appreciated.

So – on to the second half of 2013 – happy reading ahead!
